Is jealousy a "good thing"?
by The Berean inwhat would humans strive to achieve if it were not what others already had?.
-
Mr. Majestic
I think that jealousy has its place. If an unbelieving mates spouse spends more time serving ‘Jehovah’ than they do have positive input into the family, then I see that as a very good reason to be jealous. In fact I would go onto say that if a spouse serves Jehovah at all then that is proper cause for jealousy.

hat tipping is of Satanic origin and it causes divorce
by lilyflor inhat tipping and rising when a woman leaves the table or enters a room......wt52 april 15 qfr.
i dare say satan's ways are as mysterious as god's.
(i now have to wonder if letting a woman on or off the elevator first is part of satan's schemes).

Why thank you, you sweet and fragile creature.
Now run along nicely and make your good man a cup of tea and fill his favourite pipe full of tobacco…..
There’s a good girl….

She Would Have Been Better Off A JW
by DJQuimica inwell i have been wanting to tell this story for some time now.
does anyone believe that a person is better becoming a jw?
i ask this question because i have carried this around with me for some years now.
-
Mr. Majestic
Tabitha died in a car wreck a year after our divorce, she had been coming back from Lubbock and had been drinking. I feel that if she had continued to study with the JWs she might still be alive today.
I heard of a newly baptised brother coming home from the convention last year and he died in a car crash on the way home. So in that guys case he died because he was a JW.
The point is that shit happens in life, and one way of living doesn’t necessarily cause someone’s life to be better or worse than another. If she was that kind of person inside then she would have proved to be a miserable JW, being that her life would have been totally constricted and her true spirit would have been forced out of her. It would be better for her to be alive, but as I have shown above she could have died while being a JW also….. It was just a very unfortunate incident….
Hope you can come to terms with your emotions on this issue….

Losing the Ego, easier said than done
by homeschool ini've read steven hassan's combatting cult mind control, and i can see that it's impossible to say anything negative about their religion/cult.
thats just really stinkin' tough when you have proof and evidence of things and they are in lala land about their cult!
about ten years ago, i was a lot more outspoken about how i felt about the jw's, but have since grown up a bit.

Lack of education doesn’t mean that you are stupid, but it does help you see more easily the truth, as these two scriptures show……
(Matthew 11:25) 25 At that time Jesus said in response: "I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to babes.. . .
(Psalm 146:3) 3 Do not put YOUR trust in nobles, Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs.
God.... I really miss Reniaa…….

What's the best way to reason with and help your wife to give up her JW religion?
by lifelong humanist ini dad myself 6 years ago, and was quite surprised that my wife (of 38 years) did not follow suit.
perhaps this is because her father and brother are still active jws, and she doesn't want them to shun her the way that they have done to me.. so, my wife is still a jw, albeit losing interest in her religion.
as far as i know, she doesn't even go door to door anymore.
-
Mr. Majestic
If she is having doubts then you need to work on these, so just openly talking to her would be best I would think (if you can). I would say that you really need to take it slowly as well, being that you have no cover as to what you wish for her. Sounds like she is in a very hard position so you might have to be gentle and patient with her and let her come to the conclusions herself with as little help from you as possible. With family in whom she loves and would shun her if she left I can’t see that she is going to change all that quickly from where she is now.
Wishing you the best…..

Another Question for JW Apologists...
by Jack Burton ini've been following the thread on staying off of apostate sites, and somehow the subject of reinstatement came up.. i started thinking about this, and i thought about how "easy" it would be for someone like me to get reinstated.
just for the record, i have no desire to ever go back to "the truth".
but, after being raised as a witness, serving in various different positions, i understand how to play the game.

Mr. Majestic
Ok…. I’m in a JW apologist mood today so I will have a go at replying to your question, now that Reniaa has taken a rest for the time being….
The answer is actually in the bible. Back in the first century the bible clearly shows that gods spirit was operative on the congregations back then. Pentecost, gifts of the spirit, etc…. But though there was ‘solid’ evidence that he was with them back then there were still a lot of cases where people in the congregations were not whole souled for Jehovah:-
(Acts 20:27-30) . . .. 28 Pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the holy spirit has appointed YOU overseers, to shepherd the congregation of God, which he purchased with the blood of his own [Son]. 29 I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among YOU and will not treat the flock with tenderness, 30 and from among YOU yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.
(2 Peter 2:1) 2 However, there also came to be false prophets among the people, as there will also be false teachers among YOU. These very ones will quietly bring in destructive sects and will disown even the owner that bought them, bringing speedy destruction upon themselves.
(1 John 2:18-19) 18 Young children, it is the last hour, and, just as YOU have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of our sort; for if they had been of our sort, they would have remained with us. But [they went out] that it might be shown up that not all are of our sort.
So the same question could be put to the congregations back then, but the evidence showed that gods spirit was still operative on them back then, despite the fact that some people were not pure hearted in their love for Jehovah………
Why would it be any different today…????

How many here actually still believe that there is a God??
by annalice inafter being gone from the jw's for many years now , and having done extensive research on the history of god and the belief in him , i can't seem to find any logical way to have a belief in an invisble being up there ruling over us.
how many here still believe?
how many don't?.
-
Mr. Majestic
The facts have not shown a single shred of evidence for a "god". It's just wishful thinking and indoctrination.
What about all of the wonderful creation around us…??? Is that not evidence of a ‘loving creator’..?? I think that you need to look again…. Tut tut…!!
Besides, god only reveals himself to the ones that are close to him and have faith in him. So it is no surprise there is no evidence. That is the way that god is. Doesn’t mean that he doesn’t exist…..
